I have decided to fundraise for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The Perkins conducts innovative research into the diseases that rob us of our loved ones.

Established in 1998, the Perkins have grown to become one of the nation’s leading medical research centres, where a close knit team of more than 450 research and trial staff work together to defeat the major diseases that impact our community – diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes and rare genetic diseases.

Like everyone at the Perkins, I am driven by a desire to keep families together for longer, but I cannot do it alone. Please help me get to my fundraising target to support Perkins' researchers life-saving work. Please share this link with your networks and every little bit counts.

I'm fundraising for cancer research

We have all lost family, friends, business associates, and fellow sporting and community organisation members to cancer of all differing descriptions.

We can all do something to help with the prevention of such illnesses – and that is to assist in the funding of medical research that will identify cures or treatments for future sufferers.

And when we say we would do anything to help – then we should – so shaving my head to help raise funds and awareness is a very small price to pay.

I’m not doing this alone – my best friend Nanook will be joining me in having all his hair shaved off too.

So friends and family – “keep your hair on” instead make a meaningful donation - any and every amount helps to support this very important cause - it could in fact be saving your own life, or someone close to you.
