I'm running to defeat cancer, conquer heart disease and beat diabetes.
This November I’m running 3km a day to help beat Australia's toughest diseases.Richie was diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes May 1st of this year and what a whirlwind it’s been! Hospitals, RFDS dash to PCH, needles, needles, needles 💉 constant blood glucose monitoring , missed school, missed sports, appointments, Telehealth calls, hypos, alarms, alarms, ALARMS 🚨 🙉 (16 in one night alone 😴😴) , constant trips to the chemist for supplies, sugar tablets, ketone strips, BG strips, carb counting .. & on & on & on! I never thought Type 1 Diabetes was so full on but here we are 😌
We are forever grateful for doctors, educators , nurses, science and technology meaning Richie will live a full and healthy life but how amazing would a cure be for everyone living with Type 1 Diabetes!!! So I’m doing my part to help raise funds for research by running 3km per day for the month of November 🏃♀️ I’ve asked Richie to join me as this is for him but when he realised he won’t be getting any funds raised he opted out 🙄 Every dollar counts so any donation at all would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
